The year 1981, November was the month I was born. Born to
a place I call ‘paradise’. The place I
started my life’s journey.
For long years, until now I can say that only and few
changed and I wish that development in terms of infrastructure and development
will never hit this place where I was born. I want this place be the sanctuary
of nature’s real landscape, nature’s real beauty and the haven of undisturbed
flora and fauna.
Below is the hill in front of our house, where I usually
play during afternoon. The big mango tree was gone and was washed out by the
typhoon but still the beauty remains.
This is (below) the place where we pasture our cow and
water buffalo and as I remember, let me include my three pet goats.
As I remember, while we pasture our livestock here, we
usually play slides using coconut leaves in this mini slope. It feels like am
free when I slide down the slope. It really feels great.
Of course we are kids that time and there are plenty of
times that my parents will get angry to us because we left our livestock not
feeding on the grass but in the farm located just next to this pasture land.
And this is the place I usually hide, on top of the hill.
Or sometimes play in the creek just few meters away from
the back of our yard.
After all those gone so fast years, I went back to the
place where I was born and see what I’ve got. A place that is so solemn that
makes you relaxed under Mother Earth’s shade.
